Conceptual Design and Illustration

Conceptual design and illustration is the interpretation of an idea into visual form. Once the initial designs have been made, modifications, adjustments, and revisions are performed until the concept has been clearly communicated.

Previsualization

Previsualization can be any technique (hand drawn sketches, computer renderings, etc.) that attempts to visualize scenes before final products are created. Previsualization can be applied to any project: engineering projects, commercials, film, architectural projects, television, product design, interior and exterior home design and more!

Pre-production

Pre-production is the process of preparing all the elements involved in a project. This can include, but not limited to, character design, set design, motion tests and basic storyboarding.

Storyboarding

Storyboarding is the first step in any movie, television show, commercial or other video. Hand drawn frames are used to plan the look and set up of a shot. Often times, storyboards are combined with the actor’s voiceover or music to get a more accurate representation of timing and the final product. Storyboards often resemble comic strips (minus the speech balloons).

Character Design

Character designs are hand drawn sketches used to convey the character’s physical appearance and personality. Sketches will include the character in a classic “da Vinci” style pose as well as displaying a wide range of emotions (happy, sad, laughing, crying, confused, etc.)

Set Design

Set designs are hand drawn sketches to visualize the environment that the shot will take place. These are useful in the layout of objects in the scene and overall look and feel of the environment.
